We are a small, fully accredited and friendly college (maximum 80 students) in the North of England, founded in 1981, near the centre of this safe, cosmopolitan and elegant spa town. Harrogate (70 000 inhabitants) is 30 km from York and Leeds and less than 3 hours by train from London. We specialise in high quality English and Academic tuition to small groups (average 4-5 students). From September to June most of our students are British, creating an English-speaking atmosphere.
The college is located in safe and attractive surroundings close to extensive parkland. We are a ten-minute walk from the town centre.

Courses
We offer a variety of programmes which combine English classes with an interesting range of sporting, social and cultural activities. The excursions and social activities allow participants to explore the countryside and cultural heritage of Britain and to practise English in less formal situations. All activities are escorted and supervised by members of staff.

Classes
As classes are small you receive a lot of individual attention and make rapid progress. We use communicative teaching techniques, modern coursebooks which are loaned to students, computers, audio, video and IT equipment. All the language skills are developed in an active learning environment. A college certificate is given to students at the end of the course.
The teaching hour is 55 minutes with a 5-minute break.
September – June, the maximum class size is 10 students, the average is 5. Summer – Junior, maximum 10 students, average 8. Adult, maximum 12 students, average 9.

We advise students to fly to Leeds-Bradford via London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin or Paris.
Terms
1. Reservation. Please book the course online with Planet Course.
2. Confirmation. You will be sent the invoice, then the name and details of your host family.
3. Payment. Invoices must be paid 4 weeks before your course starts. With all payments, please state your name, course and invoice number. Please add £15.00 to the bank transfer for UK bank charges
4. Withdrawal. No refund is made if a student withdraws before the end of the course. Similarly, no refund is made for unattended classes.
5. Cancellation. Please contact the college for cancellation charge information.
6. Insurance. The College accepts no liability for any accident, loss or damage to students or their belongings, however arising. Students must obtain personal possessions, accident, health and dental insurance cover.
7. Change of circumstances. Students should notify the college immediately of any change of address, telephone number or further material change of circumstance.
8. The Principal reserves the right to terminate the attendance of any student whose work or behaviour is unsatisfactory. In any case, the student and/or his parents or guardians will be fully informed of the reasons and no fees will be refunded.
